ACTS OF PRIDE

For Pride 2022, I led the artistic creative direction for Facebook's vibrant social initiatives in collaboration with the Game Seven team. Beyond surface celebrations, Pride represents history, protest, and unity. Through the "Acts of Pride" series, we highlighted how the LGBTQ+ community utilizes the Facebook App to connect, educate, and inspire, weaving authentic narratives via videos, posts, and GIFs. These stories kindled genuine engagement, fueling tangible actions, and honoring LGBTQ+ trailblazers.

Trans people of color are at the heart of both LGBTQ+ liberation's history and its evolving future. This video showcases Ceyenne Doroshow, a resolute advocate within the Black trans community and founder of G.L.I.T.S., an organization empowering the queer and trans communities with housing and employment. Through her story, we unveil the potency of everyday actions, demonstrating how even the smallest steps can create transformative ripples of support, highlighting Ceyenne's inner strength as she champions change.

Amidst the pandemic's onset, Tabitha Hamilton and Lais Milburn initiated Black Trans Leadership Austin (BTLA), a sanctuary for the QTBIPOC community in central Texas. With a mission to nurture, lead, and unite, they birthed the BTLA community garden, a potent symbol of communal care and growth—even in an environment where there was previously nothing at all. Tabitha and Lais share their compelling story about creating space for their community.

LGBTQ+ EVERGREEN

We expanded upon the success of Acts of Pride by delving deeper into how both online and offline communities shape our identities, culminating during LGBTQ+ History Month. Community is intrinsic to queer life, where online connections help us discover and express ourselves collectively. This concept converges personal journeys of discovery and communal bonds online, spanning from nearby community members to those miles away. This continuation of Acts of Pride spotlighted stories from underrepresented groups, like intersex, disabled, Two-Spirit, and indigenous communities, in alignment with the focus on action and inclusion.

LGBTQ+ History Month is a reminder of the generations of queer people all around the world who fought for equality and acceptance. five creators from across the spectrum came together to discuss how identity evolves over time and how our communities are vital in creating the space that supports our authentic selves.
